Bioinformatician & Biologist
Luca Pandolfini is a researcher with extensive expertise in molecular biology and genomics.
He earned a master’s degree in General Biology from the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and a master’s in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Pisa. He then completed a PhD in Neurobiology at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, where he developed a deep understanding of the complex mechanisms underlying nervous system differentiation.
With over three years of experience as a Researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa, Luca Pandolfini has actively contributed to cutting-edge research projects, applying an interdisciplinary approach and leveraging his expertise in functional genomics.
Prior to joining the Italian Institute of Technology, he gained extensive research experience as a Research Associate at the Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute. During his more than four-year tenure, he refined his skills in biology, with a particular focus on cancer research, enhancing his understanding of the molecular and cellular dynamics of pathological processes.
Within the MAMELI project, Luca Pandolfini supervises the analysis of repetitive element methylation using third-generation sequencing technologies.
