New project funded!

The ReACT Project (Resilience Acute Challenge Test) has been awarded a €150,000 ERC Proof of Concept (PoC) grant!

ReACT builds on the scientific discoveries of the ERC Consolidator Grant MAMELI, translating its findings on environmental epigenetics into a novel approach for measuring biological resilience. The project aims to develop a standardized experimental framework that objectively quantifies adaptive reserve—the body’s intrinsic capacity to maintain biological stability when exposed to environmental and biological stressors, a key determinant of health that remains difficult to assess with current clinical tools.

By integrating biological samples, molecular biomarkers, and advanced quantitative modelling, ReACT will establish a functional assay capable of measuring adaptive capacity through a controlled biological challenge. The project will provide a reproducible framework for assessing biological resilience, paving the way for innovative approaches to health promotion, disease prevention, and personalized medicine.
