Wearable sensors and mobile app
For monitoring health and fitness parameters during the two weeks preceding sample collection, participants will wear a commercially available high-end wearable device, which continuously records oxygen saturation, skin temperature, breathing rate, heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, sleep quality, and physical activity.
The MAMELI-App, specifically developed for this study and connected to the wearable device, will be used to track participants’ lifestyle habits and mood across the two weeks-long monitoring period. The app allows to collect daily information on participants’ food intake through the upload of photographs of meals, and on water and alcoholic beverages, as well as cigarette consumption. In addition, it allows to assess mood through simple, self-reported queries about the participants’ feelings.
